Leather appeals for many reasons. It's a stylish, natural product and very durable. Though leather dog collars and leashes are getting more beautiful overtime because they are worn ('used' look), at times they do appreciate some extra TLC. So how to care for your leather dog collars and leashes?
Using a damp cloth is an old method, but still reliable. Keep your collar and leash clean by giving it a wipe down every now and then, using only water and a cloth. This will remove dirt and dust. Lay it flat on a table and allow to dry. You're done!
If the leather becomes a little dry, it may be a good idea to give it some more 'body' to restore its full glory. Simply use the damp cloth method first, and allow the leather to dry fully (this is important, as you might create spots where the leather is still wet otherwise).
Now apply a thin layer of cream/conditioner. Go for a natural/transparant color! Again, allow the leather piece to dry, and then rub the excessive cream off with a soft cloth or kitchen paper.
